Hello, My Great Great Grandmother, Caroline Williams, died in Lake County, Gary Indiana on 8 February 1940. I am having trouble finding information on the below first generation. I am not even sure the data is correct, as it comes from IGI CD's. On Henry Bagwell/Bagwill, I have good data after his marriage. He is a direct ancestor. I am stumped with his parents. His wife, Elmira Neff, I also have lots of data. Turns out the Neffs are all over the place and in books. Has anyone run across references to Bagwell's at all. They were in Jackson, and Lawrence, then disappear. After awhile, there are none in Jackson. thanks bill bagwill FIRST GENERATION 1. Eligah BAGWILL 1 was born in 1787. 2 He disappeared on a rainy night. I have hit a brick wall with MORTON MILLS. Morton is shown in the 1850 census of Jackson County, Indiana with his wife, Parthena Eastin Mills, and three children: John J., James Patterson and Mary E. Both Parthena (b-1823) and Morton (b-5/20/1823) were born in Indiana. Morton died 11/21/1851 and is buried in Liberty Cemetery, Jackson County, Indiana. Parthena died 4/1862 and is buried beside Morton. Any information on the parents or siblings of Morton (or Parthena) would be appreciated. Thank you. Marie Holmes Cottonwood, AZ

Hello Jackson County! First let me apologize for being so naive--that was my first response and I should have waited longer to see what the list really was. I am researching my father's family who all came from Jackson Co. IN. His father,Noah MARLING, was born there in 1847. He had 7 brothers and 1 sister. Noah married Effie LEWIS and they moved to California. Hiram W. MARLING was Noah's father. He Married Jane MCDONALD, in 1831. I am trying to find where Hiram W. came from. One source said he was born in New York, but I have no idea which part, so I haven't been able to locate him. I do not know what country (England ?) the name MARLING came from. I have Noah after he moved to Calif., but no other clues on Hiram W.. Also, no clues about Jane MCDONALD except from the census she was born in Kentucky about 1810. Can't find her parents' names. Can anyone give me a shove in the right direction, or any suggestions how to proceed? Thanks for any help. Hi Folks, SPAM is unwanted e-mail. From time to time you will receive this type e-mail, not only on lists you are subscribed to but also in your mailbox where you receive your own personal email messages. The only way to control this type e- mail is to have a closed mail list and in my opinion, this defeats the purpose of what we are trying to do and that is help each other and come in contact with individuals researching the same surnames. But this still leaves your own mail you receive through your inbox or mailbox........I get email all the time from individuals or companies I haven't a clue as to who they are or why they're send the email. I find that clicking on the DELETE key is the best route. If you wish to unsubscribe: [email protected] and type in unsubscribe Darlene Anderson Jackson County Coordinator and Listowner
