Larry, Thanks for the info. I will contact Ms Buck and compare notes. Cozad isn't too far from North Platte and maybe I can meet her there. Will get back to you when I hear from the cousin in Colorado or after I talk to Ms Buck. Janet
I have a Willcutt (the spelling may be off) from Washington County... Her name was Hester Willcutt, she married Willis Cunningham. They had several children and the youngest, Reuben, moved to Jackson County after one of his marriages. Reuben had a daughter, Jannie Cunningham who was my great-grandmother. If you've turned up any Hesters, or any Cunningham links, I'd be interested in hearing from you! Thanks, Lisa Ann -- _______________________________________________________ "Hope is the ability to hear the music of the future. Larry, First of all I want to thank you again for the info you gave me. I really appreciated receiving it. I did compare it with the info I received from a Scott cousin in Colorado and what I already had and here are the differences: John Parke Curtis Scott: 2 birthdates 24 Oct 1830 & 28 Oct 1831 Died 14 Aug 1902 Tombstone states date and aged 70 years 9 mos 16 days Mary Susannah White: 2 birthdates 9 Jan 1835 & 23 Jan 1833 2 death dates: 27 Apr 1875 & 17 Oct 1884 Tombstone states 18 Oct 1884 aged 51 years 9 mos There was another wife but she was still alive in 1902 when John died. Samuel Scott was NOT a twin to Elizabeth. The 1860 shows that Samuel was 2 years old and Elizabeth was 6 months old. Elizabeth died 18 Oct 1879. Tombstone states age 19 y 11 mos 12 d Malinda Catherine Scott had a 2nd husband Charles Metcalf (don't know fate of Otto Henry Lewis) Permelia Ellen died 10 Nov 1873 not 1875. Tombstone states age as 2 years 11 mos 1 d John Jefferson Scott has 2 birthdates: 20 Jun 1873 and 26 Jan 1876. His wife's first name was Betty. Samuel Isaac has 2 birthdates: 27 Apr 1875 and 28 Apr 1876. Wife's full name Elizabeth Hester White who died Nov 1948. Married second wife, Alice Beebe 16 Mar 1952. Death certificate for James william Scott states birth date as 25 Jan 1857. This is first place I have seen "Maude" Dellvina Simon. Have marriage and death certificates. Sarah Scott (James twin) was married to FRANK Osterhoudt (maybe was called "Jesse" as nickname). I plan to go to North Platte soon and get copies of the obits, marriage and probate records, if I can. Maybe that will clear up a few things. I sent a copy of your info to the Scott cousin in Colorado. He has been doing this for a lot longer time than I. I asked him what he used for "proofs" and I guess I am asking you the same. Hope this helps all of us. Take care and, as you said, stay in touch. Janet

Hello list users- This is my first time writing to the mailing list and I hope someone can help me. I have a John Scott (b 28 Oct 1831) and a Mary Susannah White (b 23 Jan 1833) who married in Jackson Co 20 May 1853. Their children were: Daniel (b 23 May 1855) Jackson Co twins Janes & Sarah (b 25 Jan 1857) Freetown, Jackson Co Elizabeth (b 25 Oct 1859) David (b 18 Jun 1861) Jacob (b 23 Sept 1863) Malinda Catherine (b. 4 Nov 1865) Nancy Ann (b. 30 Sep 1867) Martha Jane (b 24 Mar 1869) Permelia Ellen (b 14 Nov 1870) John Jefferson (b 26 Jan 1873) Sanuel Isack(?) (b 28 Apr 1876) Sometime before 1873 they moved to Harlan Co, NE where Elizabeth and Permelia died. My question is: who were the parents (and siblings) of John Scott and Mary White? Since James and Sarah were born in Freetown, could the family resided there until they moved? Could John and Mary's parents been from there also? Any help would be appreciated. Janet

I am seeking information on Morton Mills, born May 20, 1823 in Indiana and died November 21, 1851 in Jackson County, Indiana. He married Parthena Eastin/Easton on March 22, 1842 in Jackson County. In 1848 he purchase several acres of land in Lawrence County, Indiana. Morton is buried in Liberty Cemetery, Jackson County. Morton and Parthena had 4 known children: James Patterson, John J., Mary E and an infant that died at a young age. Also, in Jackson County, Indiana, within a 4 year period, there were 2 other marriages of individuals with the last name of Mills. Possibly someone might have these names in their records and, being in the same county during the same period of time, they could be related to Morton. An Elizabeth Mills married a James Eastin/Easton in 1847 and a Mary Ann Mills married a Richard Newkirk in 1846. At this stage, and after several years of trying to locate any information concerning Morton, I am grabbing at straws. Any help anyone could give me to point me in the direction of Morton's parents, siblings, etc. would really be appreciated. Thank you. Marie
