Hedrick Robert G. Hedrick, 79, 2926W-550S, died at 12:40 a.m. Friday (June 17, 2005) at his home. Mr. Hedrick was a carpenter and co-owner of the Mt. Etna Sawmill since 1946. He retired in 1983. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and horseshoe clubs in Huntington and Avon, Fla. A lifetime resident of Huntington County, Mr. Hedrick graduated from Monument City High School in 1943. He entered the United States Army in March 1945 and was honorably discharged in November 1946. He was born Oct. 25, 1925, in Huntington County to Jonah Edkar and Bertha King Hedrick. He married Mildred Aufdenkampe at St. Mary Catholic Church on July 31, 1948. His wife survives. Also surviving are a son, Tim Hedrick, Huntington; two daughters, Ann Freds and Jo Paul, both of Huntington; a brother, Jim Hedrick, Huntington; two sisters, Mae Archbold and Jean Paul, both of Huntington; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Phil Hedrick; and two sisters, Rheva Parrott and Devon Brown. Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, with recitation of the rosary at 5:30 p.m., at the Bailey-Love Mortuary. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Gary Sigler officiating. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with military graveside services being conducted by VFW Post 2689. Bishop, 79, a lifelong resident of South Whitley, died at 10:03 p.m. Tuesday (June 14, 2005) at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, where he was admitted May 9. Mr. Bishop retired from Johnson Brothers Sign Company in 1987 after three years of service. He had previously worked for South Whitley Trucking for 18 years and Carey Construction for seven years and had been a meat cutter for Bayman Food Banks for 13 years. He served on the USS Mobile CL-63 during World War II after enlisting in the Navy on Dec. 7, 1942. He was honorably discharged March 22, 1946. He was a member of the South Whitley United Methodist Church, South Whitley Lions Club, Cleveland Township Advisory Board, Habitat for Humanity, Clear Creek Golf Club, and U.S. Cruiser Sailors Association. He was born Nov. 21, 1925, in South Whitley to Clair C. and Georgia D. Rubrake Bishop. He graduated from South Whitley High School. He married Miriam J. Herr on March 14, 1947, and they have always resided on North Main Street in South Whitley. His wife survives. Also surviving are a son, Timothy L. Bishop, Kenosha, Wis.; a daughter, Patricia J. Wheeler, Pleasant Hills, Mo.; two brothers, Larry Bishop, Huntington, and John Bishop, South Whitley; two sisters, Doris Brandenburg, South Whitley, and Eunice Ware, Indianapolis; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Bishop and Max Bishop; and a sister, Clarice Drake. Mr. Chenoweth was a field underwriter for Auto Owners Insurance for 30 years. He served in 2nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post 7, and the Historic Forks of the Wabash. He was a 1949 graduate of Lancaster High School. He was born July 22, 1931, in Huntington, to Herbert and Alice Helm Chenoweth. He married Gathel Paul on Aug. 15, 1959. His wife survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Alice Easley of Zanesville and Anne Chenoweth-Ruble of Huntington; a brother, Melvin D. Chenoweth of Fort Myers, Fla.; and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church, 50 E. Tipton St., with Rev. John Ritchie officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be at the Lancaster Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the First Presbyterian Church. Advantage Funeral and Cremation, Fort Wayne, is in charge of arrangements. Laberta M. Williams Laberta M. Williams, 87, Huntington, died at 3:05 p.m. Thursday (June 16, 2005) at Miller's Merry Manor in Huntington. Mrs. Williams worked at Wabash Magnetics in Huntington for 12 years. She was a member of College Park Church and was a founder of the Kim League at the Huntington YMCA. She was born Feb. 16, 1916, in Huntington to Mathias and Eva Hoover Wechsler. She married Ezra Williams in Clinton, Iowa on May 12, 1940. Her husband died May 14, 1986. Survivors include three sons, Nello T. Williams and Rollo K. Williams, both of Gillette, Wyo., and Kevin H. Williams, Bronson, Mich.; six daughters, Joyce Rogers, Park City, Utah, Loxie Hite, Billings, Mont., Kathy Hollowell, Huntington, Penny Wiseman, Berne, Debra Hansen, Farmington, N.M., and Tamra Monroe, St. Paris, Ohio; and 22 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. A brother, Clifford Wechsler, preceded her in death. Calling is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Deal-Rice and Van Gilder Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, with calling one hour prior to services, at Pilchers Chapel. Rev. Donovan Voight and Rev. Russell Buzzard will officiate.
