    2. Edna was the daughter of Samuel Erastus Colbert and Minnie Cruzette ( Bonham ) Colbert Longtime Tucsonan Edna Gill, musical club figure, dies at 87 Edna C. Gill, a resident of Tucson for more than 60 years, died of heart failure in Tucson Medical Center on Thursday night. She was 87. Gill came to Tucson in 1917 from Huntington, Ind. with her husband, the late Harmon W. gill. As a youngster she had studied music and taken every opportunity to participate in musical groups. By 1918, she was an active member of the Saturday Morning Musical Club and was the contralto soloist for almost every Tucson musical event for the next 15 years. Gill was a member of the Saturday Morning Musical Club's board of directors at the time the Temple of Music and Art was built in the late 1920's. She served as music director at the First Christian Church, the Trinity Presbyterian Church and the Congregational Church. Gill was also active in the American Red Cross Grey Ladies. She was a member of the booster club for the Arizona Boy's Ranch and a life member of the First Christian Church. She also was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and an honorary member of the Old Pueblo Club. She is survived by her son, Warren, of San Clemente, Calif.; a daughter, Eleanor Hudspeth of Tucson; one step granddaughter; three step great-grandchildren and a cousin, Ruth B. Jones, also of Tucson. Visitation will be held tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Arizona Mortuary downtown. A private grave side service will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Evergreen Cemetery and a memorial service is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. at First Christian Church, 740 E. Speedway. The family asks that remembrances be made in the form of donations to the Red Cross, The Arizona's Boy's Ranch or the First Christian Church.
