And that from about 1846 until 1871, was a resident of Wabash County, Indiana. That he is a son of Isaac Wamsley, and the grand-son of Mary Rariden (Rarden) who owned the northwest fractional quarter of section No 8 in township No. 27 North, range No. 7 east, being 69 acres more or less, and who received from the state of Indiana a Canal Grant Patent therefor; That my grand-mother, the said Mary Rariden, died in the latter part of 1846, or early in the year 1847, a widow. That I was personally acquainted with the family, and that to my knowledge, the only heirs left by the said Mary Rariden at her demise, were: -my mother and father, Elizabeth and Isaac Wamsley. And her sons, (my mother's brothers) James Carson, John Carson, and Adam Carson Seldon Abbott, a grand-child on his mother's side: David and Rebecca Newell, daughter and son in law of May (sic) Rariden: and John Carson, Thomas M. Carson, grand children of Mary Rariden That he has no knowledge of who Joseph S. Carson was but that he was not a direct heir of Mary Rariden.
