Elzey Vivian Ilene Elzey, 89, died at 2:58 p.m. Sunday (May 26, 2002) at The Heritage of Huntington. Mrs. Elzey retired from Triad Utrad. She had also been employed at Caswell-Runyan and had worked as a cook at the Bulldog and Spot restraurants. She was born Aug. 15, 1912 in Wells County to Furl and Amy (Davis) Davison. She married Alvin D. W. Elzey in Wells County on Oct. 10, 1931. Her husband died Dec. 29, 1987. Survivors include four daughters, Wilma Coffelt, Mrs. Richard (Sarah) Keplinger, Mrs. David (Patricia) Flora, and Mrs. Lee (Linda) Hughes, all of Huntington; a son, Furl "Doc" Elzey, Huntington; a sister, Viola Hubley, Huntington; a brother, Verlin Davison, Bluffton; 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Pastor Ken Rieman will officiate. Burial will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Parkview Hospice, in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750.
