This morning, about eight o'clock, Elmer Sprowl was instantly killed by falling on the engine bed, under the crank shaft, of a gas engine of the Raper Hagler farm, about four miles east of Warren. 'Lige McElhany was with him but was outside of the building at the time and did not see him when the accident occurred. The deceased was married, but had no children. He was a son of John W. Sprowl, of near Liberty Center. The Warren Weekly News, Thursday, January 2, 1902 Obituary. Jonathan Elmer Sprowl was born December 6, 1872 and died December 26, 1901, aged 29 years and 20 days. He leaves a wife, father, mother, one sister and one brother, a sister and a brother having gone on before. He married Sarah Celestia Fudge August 25, 1900, proving to her a faithful and loving husband until death. Service at Salem church Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment at Woodlawn.
