Yes, the library has both the 1887 history book, the Huntington County Historical Society had reprints done of it, and I have a copy via my mother when she was alive, worked on genealogy so I got it when she passed. I got copies of the map from my last visit to the library back in April, sad but true, I don't get home often enough. Ah, home, I miss it, but let's not dwell on that. By the way, the historical socieity meets right there in the Indiana Room in the Huntington Public Library. Also to let all of you know, I got a posting from another gen web Iist I'm on. It's a free look at ww1 draft cards, I have found many for my own lines there, even gives some complete middle names :) I don't know about the rest of you, but I hate not know what their middle names were. :) Any way, it's free downloading until July 17, 2005. Has eye and hair color, address, birth info and more. Don't forget to down load the pdf of blank forms so that you can see what the questions were. Since he died in 1890, there is a possbility that burial info may be with his death details on his death certificate. If you do a search for my name on the Huntington List, I posted the addresses and phone numberes for the court house and for the health dept., which are in separate buildings now. Address your questions to Andrew at the Health Dept., asking him what kind of info is available for your search and then if the info is there then you can make a formal request for a copy of the certificate. I haven't done that yet, I know for an offical death certificate it's $6 for the first copy and $1 for each additonal, but there should also be an unoffical "for genealogy use only" copy availble for a reduced price. I am from Huntington Co but no longer live there so I can not volunteer to look for him any time soon, I'm a good 80 miles away. I do have the 1887 Huntington County History Book and will look for him in there and I have the 1876 or 9 county plot maps as well but not the index. I will let you know if I find anything.
