    1. Huntington County Society of Friends (Quakers)
    2. andrea long
    3. Growing up in Huntington, I never knew of any Quaker Churches in the county, the closest one I ever knew of was in southern Grant County. The area I live in now has a lot of Friends Meetings and I go to one myself. I know that for many early years there were meetings in Huntington Co. I have a little information on them and I also have some other connections for those who wish to do some digging that way. Genealogy, using Friends records is quite interesting as they have always been know to record everything as weddings, births and deaths within it's meeting. So there are lots of things to gleen from. Huntington would of been a part of IYM (Indiana Yearly Meeting), It is still a very active yearly meeting. You can check out that at www.iym.org. There are also Quaker Encylopedias for several states that have been done for researchers. There are two full sets here in Randolph County that I know of. The ones for IN were done by Willard C. Heiss, who was a birthright Friend at the meeting I attend. Using that, you can find what meetings your ancestors might of attended and using that, then you can get more info from Tom Hamm, tomh@earlham.edu. He works at the Lilly Library at Earlham and is the Yearly Meetings Custodian of Records. His phone # at the library is 765-983-1511. I also have a book that I borrowed from my meeting that has Huntington stuff in it and later this coming week I will post the info on them to the Huntington List. 1. Huntington County Surname Roll Call Idea
    2. andrea long
    3. Hey there everyone, I thought it would be a good time to start what we call a Roll Call here in Randoplh County, IN. It helps those who are new to a list get to know who is being looked for and to help make new connections within the Group. Here in Randolph County, we do this about twice a year, and I have never seen it done on any other list I am on. So I thought I would introduce the idea to you. I will send another e-mail with my Surnames in a few minutes. I know that when we do a Roll Call here, it gets things rolling along for the list. It looks as though Jacob married Etta Alice (Decker) before Nancy Elizabeth (Gregg) died. That seems odd, doesn't it? I don't think there was a divorce here, at least I never heard of one for Jacob. I know he was married three times, but I never heard of a divorce.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/gh.2ADI/5426 Message Board Post: Looking for contact with descendants of James Bradsher born about 1847 in North Carolina. His wife was Sarah, born about 1860 in Indiana. James appears to have two brothers, Leonidas, born about 1850 in Indiana and Clark, born about 1851 in Indiana. From their birthdates, it would seem that the father of James, Leonidas and Clark (Clarkson) migrated to Indiana, probably from N.C. If you have any information to share about these families, please e-mail me directly.

All digital pictures. I just haven't done much with them as of yet. Been to busy with my web-site for the county I live in now. Now there are others in both I'm sure that I need but they are the sibblings and so on of my great grandmother Dora VanArsdalen Sharp, several of her sisters came to Huntington County and married in the same areas mentioned. I'll have to do some looking to give the surnames. I will do that in a day or two.
