Mrs. Sohn had left the room only a few minutes when she heard the child scream, and hastening back found it vainly trying to tear off its clothes. In trying to smother the flames her hands were badly burned, and she finally put them out by taking the child to the pump and pouring water over it. Death ensued at midnight Sunday.

Cramer, engineer at Kenower's furniture factory, was caught by the flywheel and horribly mangled. He was drawn into the pit, between the floor and the wheel, and there held until the engine was stopped. It took about twenty minutes to extricate him, he retaining consciousness all the while and until a short time before death relieved him of his terrible sufferings, which was in about three hours.

Twp. news Finley Wine's funeral was preached at Otterbein last Sunday by Rev. Wellington Lions, of LaFontain. Notwithstanding the bad roads and cloudy weather the house was filled with people to pay the last respects to one of our best young men. Finley is dead, but the example he left for others to follow still lives.

Rosebrough, the Marshal of Huntington, while attempting to capture Arthur Watkins, a notorious tough, shot and killed him instantly. Watkins had been fighting, and after the Marshal arrested him and took him to the Mayor's office he escaped. It was while trying to retake him that the tragedy occurred. The Grand Jury was in session at the time and after the Coroner performed his duty they investigated the case, and after having all the evidence found that the homicide was justifiable under the law.
