I was a little surprised to find this obit. It is my grandmother. The Obituary doesn't mention the fact that Wilma was Donald's second wife. Donald's first wife was Geneva Smith, and it was with her that Donald had his only son, my father Eldon. Geneva and Wilma were good friends and as she was slowly dying, she arranged for Wilma and Donald to marry after she passed away. I have some detailed records of these families if anyone is interested Ron Dutcher [email protected]

Hello, my name is Jennifer Bentz. I am a student at the University of Central Florida. I have been researching my genealogy for almost 2 years now and I have finally come across a class where I can use my research in an assignment. I am looking for anyone who would be willing to email me and just tell me why you research your family history. How long have you been doing it? Have you found anything interesting? If you could please include your first name, where you live (state/country), and your age, I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much in advance for your time. I got this from another list. I sure hope it's true! Thought it is worth passing on. More than 20,000 community newspapers, some long out of print, have recorded American life since the 17th century and two unique organizations have set the common goal of providing Internet access to this documentation of American heritage. The National Newspaper Association (NNA) and Cold North Wind Corporation signed a letter of intent today to create America's Chronicles(SM), an online search engine that accesses the digital archives of America's community newspapers, beginning with the archives of the 3600 NNA member newspapers. The project could eventually result in 500,000,000 pages of original, historical content dating back to the 1600s and will be available online at http://www.americaschronicles.com. The site will be launched at the NNA's 116th Annual Convention and Trade Show in Milwaukee, September 12-15, with access to the first of many digital archives.

Posted on: Huntington County, Indiana - Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/In/Huntington/10741 Surname: Howell, Fry ------------------------- GGGrandpa Nathan P. Howell came to Huntington about 1832 from North Carolina. He married Eleanor (Elinor, Elanor) Fry in 1850 in Warren. They lived there until their passing in 1896 and 1903. Their son, Lewis Closen Howell, brought his family to visit near the end and that's why my grandfather, Carl Edwin Howell was born there in 1896. We then moved to California. Would love to learn of cousins or other relations to my family.

Posted on: Huntington County, Indiana - Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/In/Huntington/10737 Surname: FABLE, HAWLEY, HODSHIRE, HOGSHIRE, MORRIS, PAYNE, SAYLOR, SPRAGUE ------------------------- Bonnie Jean Hodshire married Eugene E. Saylor on March 6, 1888 in Jasper County, Indiana. She was born March 28, 1868 in North Vernon, Jennings County, Indiana, and died February 19, 1937 in Lawrenceville, Dearborn County, Indiana. I know of only two children born to Bonnie: Carl and Marvin. Bonnie's parents were James Marvin Hogsshire (changed as some point to Hodshire) and Mary Jane Fable. James Marvin Hogshire was born March 23, 1834 in Moores Hill, Dearborn County, Indiana to James S. and Asenath (Hawley) Hogshire. In the civil war, he enlisted as a sargeant in Company C of the 37th Indiana Infantry on September 18, 1861 in Lawrenceville, Dearborn County, Indiana, and was discharged on October 27, 1864 in Indianpolis, Marion County, Indiana. In his military discharge papers he was described as having been 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a light complexion, hazel eyes and dark hair. James Marvin Hogshire died August 21, 1899 in Rensselaer, Jasper County, Indiana. He was a brickmason by occupation. Mary Jane Fable was born January 11, 1842 in North Vernon, Jennings County, Indiana to Johann Philip Fable (a German emigrant whose surname may have originally been spelled "Foebel") and Lucy Ann Payne. Mary Jane Fable died May 9, 1886 in Wolcott, White County, Indiana. James Marvin Hogshire and Mary Jane Fable were married July 4, 1859 in North Vernon, Jennings County, Indiana, and were the parents of 13 children: John Charles, Laura Idella, Annie Allenia, Bonnie Jean, Flora Ella, Frank Leslie, Mary Lee (known as "Mamie"), Elmer (died at two months of age), Maggie May, D.D. Maude, Robert Ray, Henry Hawley, and Edwin Paul. James S. Hogshire was born circa 1795 in Worcestor County, Maryland to William and Martha (Morris?) Hogshire. With his widowed mother and siblings, he migrated to Dearborn County, Indiana in 1818. There, in 1822, he married Asenath Hawley, but they were divorced on April 27, 1837 in Dearborn County, Indiana. He died circa 1861 in Moores Hill, Dearborn County, Indiana. Asenath Hawley was born in 1804 in New York, the only child of William Hawley and Mercy Sprague. After divorcing James S. Hogshire, she married Robert W. Todd on November 30, 1862 in Jennings County, Indiana. She died in 1884, presumably in Jennings County, Indiana. James S. Hogshire and Asenatrh Hawley were the parents of five children: Caroline Jane, Charles M., John H., James Marvin, and Victor Dell.
