I am looking for the John Campbell family who were orphaned some time about 1866-1868. Dr. John Campbell drowned, falling from a river boat, leaving Adlebert, John, Araminda, Rolla and my ggrandmother Charity orphans. My ggrandmother was placed with a Bowers family. Any information would be gratefully received!! Thanks, Joan Bray

If you would like to see them, drop me an email. The 1870 census doesn't have an infirmary listed in the same place, but does list members of a poorhouse. Does anyone know if that is the predecessor to the infirmary?

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/gh.2ADI/284.2 Message Board Post: I know our families are probably not even remotely related but the coincidence in the names is mind boggling. I'm not sure which state Huntington Co is (are we talking PA?) and where Mt. Etna is but my grandfather's name was Thomas Bond, b. 1866. He had only one brother, Edward Bond 1868 and one sister, Mary Elizabeth Bond, 1862. Mary married Jonas Buzzard and had a son George Buzzard. Thomas Bond's wife (Cora Fehr) eldest sister, Clara Fehr, married Milton Bowman and had sons Milo and Layton Bowman. This was all in Monroe County, PA. This famil was very clanish. Could you have descendants from this group? No Benson in our family that I know of.

Surnames: Bare, Miller Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/gh.2ADI/538.1 Message Board Post: I am also interested in knowing whether any old records of "inmates" of the Huntington Township infirmary are open & available. According to census records, a Sam Bare and Sarah (Miller) Bare were there from at least 1880, until 1885 for Sam when he died at about age 60, and until at least 1900 for Sarah, who died at age 90 in 1910 before the 1910 census was done. If these are the people I think they are, how did they end up on a "pauper's list" with at least one of Sam's brothers living so close by on a Polk Twp farm?
