This is what I have found so far... 1900 Federal Census: Liberty Twp., Howard County, Indiana; June 21, 1900; District No. 68; page 11B Swafford, Clayton, head, white, male, Jan 1861, 39, married 15 years, IN, IN, IN, farmer, rents farm -----, Martha, wife, white, female, Sept 1869, 30, married 15 years, mother of how many: 5, number of children living: 4, IN, IN, IN -----, Frank, son, white, male, June 1886, 13, single, IN, IN, IN, attended school 6 months -----, Attie, daughter, white, female, May 1888, 12, single, IN, IN, IN, attended school 6 months -----, Acie, son, white, male, Sept 1889, 10, single, IN, IN, IN, attended school 6 months -----, Ethel, daughter, white, female, Aug 1899, 9/12, single, IN, IN, IN 1920 Federal Census: Van Buren Twp., Pulaski County, Indiana; January 8, 1920; District No. 178; page 5A Swafford, Clayton, head, owned home, male, white, 63, married, IN, IN, IN, farmer - general farm -----, Martha, wife, female, white, 49, married, IN, IN, IN, none -----, Frank, son, male, white, 34, widowed, IN, IN, IN, E??? [can't read his occupation] -----, Harold, grandson, male, white, 9, single, attended school within year, IN, IN, IN, none -----, Irene, granddaughter, female, white, 8, single, attended school within year, IN, IN, IN, none -----, Alfred, grandson, male, white, 5, single, IN, IN, IN, none -----, Pollyanna, granddaughter, female, white, 3 1/12, single, IN, IN, IN, none I have the same date for their marriage (4-Oct-1884). I don't have the actual record, but the date came from the Howard County, Indiana Idex to Marriage Records 1844 - 1920; Book C-5; Page 47. Are you related on the SWAFFORD side or the STONE side? If you are interested, I have information going back a couple of more generations on the STONEs. Martha had 14 or 15 siblings. Her sister, Josephine (md. Isaac DAVIS), is my great-great-grandmother. I also have a (DAVIS) family picture that was taken about 1911. Josephine and Sarah, another one of their sisters, was in the picture. Not sure if Martha and Clayton would be in their or not as some of the people aren't identified. Do you know why they moved to Pulaski County? Just curious, as quite a bit of the STONE descendants still live in Howard County today.
