MUGG, son of BENJAMIN and RACHEL (MILTON) MUGG, b 16 Mar 1822, Nelson Co., Kentucky, d 1 May 1895, both bu Albright Cemetery, near Kokomo. The family lived on a farm near the village of Tampico, later renamed to Center, located southeast of Kokomo. BABY MUGG, fifth child of LLOYD and SOPHIA (WARE) MUGG. JOHN JAMES PERRY MUGG 1.6.5.3. JOHN JAMES (PERRY) MUGG, third child of JEMIMA (CUMMINGS) and WILLIAM MUGG, b 1 Oct 1851, Howard Co., Indiana, d 7 Mar 1923, bu Albright Cemetery, Howard Co., Indiana, m 23 Feb 1875 to MARY CATHERINE (MAY) JESSUP, d 16 Jul 1887, following birth of her second child. Perry moved with his parents down the road and locked up their cabin. (Vera Ann Holley, who has collected information on the MUGG families for years, writes that Perry's wife, May died quite young and he kept their cabin "as was" for years. It became known as a haunted house and was written up in the newspapers). Two children: CHARLEY and BESSIE MUGG. 1.6.5.3.1. Charlie was raised by his grandparents, who also raised Weldon Alley. 1.6.5.3.2. BESSIE MUGG, second child of PERRY and MAY (JESSUP) MUGG, b 11 Jul 1887, d 2 Jan 1888, Howard Co., Indiana. SANFORD ERMA MUGG 1.6.5.4. SANFORD EMRA MUGG, (Little Emry), fourth child of JEMMIMA (CUMMINGS) and WILLIAM MUGG, b 26 Feb 1856, Howard Co., Indiana, d 31 Aug 1858, bu first at Jessup then moved to family cemetery at Albright Cemetery, near Kokomo,* Howard Co., Indiana. * Much of the Howard County information came from Mrs. Edith Hollingsworth via Vera Holley.
