Hi, Hoping someone out there could check their cemetary listings for a Mary Hensley Duncan born Feb 14,1859 and died sometime in the 1930s or 40s. Would like to find out her exact date of death please and what cemetary she is in. Could someone out there please help. IF i could get her death date it would make it so much easier to get her death certificate. Died at the home of his son, James near Kappa, December 22, 1920. Age 90 years, 9 months and 14 days. He was three times married. His first wife being Nancy Gordon, who died in the year of 1854; to this union two children were born, James W. and Eliza Jane. His second marriage was to Hannah Mauler, who died in 1863. To this union four children were born. Aura Francis, Phoebe Ann, Nancy Elizabeth and Tommy, who died in infancy. His third marriage was to Emeline Thomas, who died in 1882. To this union eight children were born John Henry, Catherine, Lilly, Viola, Howard, Levi, Emma, and one which died in infancy. He has been a member of the Friend's church at Bethel for years. Of this family of fourteen children seven survive. They being James W. Dirmit, of Kappa, Eliza Jane Rusk, of Burlington, Aura Francis Thornburgh, Emma Arthur, of Indianapolis, Phoebe McGuire, Elizabeth Anderson, Viola Harrison all of Kokomo. There are 26 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren. He moved from Kentucky to Ripley County, Indiana, with his parent's, when 9 years old, and came to Howard County in the year of 1854. He has made his home with his son James for over 20 years. The passing away of uncle Johnny, "as he was commonly called by everyone that knew him," is the removal of one of Howard county's pioneers, who has helped to transform it from the wilderness it was, to the present beautiful country of today.

He married Margaret Peggy Reynolds born Dec 25, 1741 in Louth County Ireland and died 1828 in Hawkins County.I do not see in my research an Andrew married to an Elinor, however, I have been told there were to groups of Forgeys that came over at two different times. But everyone with the last name of Forgey are related in some way because there were two sets of brothers that came over from Ireland.

Hi, I am trying to locate the grave Julia Hensley my great grandmother who died April 20,1869. She was last known to be living in Tipton county but her husband Thomas was from Howard county. I thought maybe she moved there and that is where she died. She had a son who died in June of 1865 by the name of William Henry Hensley. Could someone out there please help me out. Young Bird was sitting on the side of his bed examining the revolver when it was discharged. The bullet entered the leg about three inches above the knee ranged downward and lodged in the muscular tissue on the other side of the leg where it was located and cut out by Dr. McClurg, who was summoned immediately after the accident occurred. The wound is a severe one and will deprive young Bird of the use of his limb for several days. It is not thought, however, that it will result in permanently crippling him. The revolver in the case has a history. It fomerly belonged to a man named Harrison, a neighbor of the Birds. Harrison was handling the weapon one day and accidently dropped it. It was discharged and the bullet struck Mrs. Harrison killing her. The husband very naturally had no more use for that revolver and gave it to Mr. Bird. The killing of Mrs. Harrison occurred about twelve years ago and will be recalled by many Tribune readers.
