    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Chism, Bell Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Fi.2ADE/918.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Bonita, I looked in my database and I don't have any record of the Chism's you are related to. But that doesn't mean we aren't related. Chism isn't a very common name I don't and since yours lived in the same place as mine it is very likely that they are related. Also, my great-great-grandmother Sara Francis Chism was born in Indiana, but her mother, Mary Bell, was born probably in Missouri, and that's a stone's throw from Arkansas. I just don't know where the relationship is.Anyway, keep in touch and maybe one of us will find something. Brian Salmons

Sorry for the delay. I very much appreciate the information you posted for me. That is the correct Ruth, and I had a feeling she was Edna Ruth, but was unable to prove it. The reason for looking for, is that I was not researching the family, but I am trying to find my husband's grandmothers biological family. I had received a list of all the little girls that where born on 15 Feb 1912, in Indiana and I have been going down the list trying to find out if they where with their listed parents between 1916 and 1918, the time that grandmother was adopted. The information you gave supplied me with enough information that I will be able to narrow my list down a little bit more. I really appreciate your help. Thank You! Sheila

Specifically I am looking for his parents. He eventually moved to Ohio, West Virginia, then to Pennsylvania, where he died in 1964. He had a brother Elmus, born 1884, and who lived in Kokomo Indiana. Elmus's wife was Anna, son Derwood, daughters, Ardetta, Thelma and Phyllis. I was told he also had a business school in Muncie Indiana and one in Uniontown PA. I was also told that he changed the spelling of his last name to mm and it was originally one m. With the middle name Manlove, I am thinking that may have been his mothers maiden name?

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Fi.2ADE/1174.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Thank you for responding, Sheila. I"ve been looking for my Smith's for many years, and I know they were in Howard County from 1870 at least through 1890 and perhaps beyond that. The thing that interests me about a Nancy Smith is that like many families of that era, they tend to name their children in certain patterns. My Nancy is actually Nancy Mullis, but her daughter, who was my great grandmother, married Thomas Smith in Fayette County. They moved to Howard County sometime before or by 1870. Their daughter, my grandmother, was named after her grandmother, Nancy Mullis. She had five brothers and one sister, and it's entirely possible that one of her brothers may have had a daughter who was named after his sister, and his grandmother. Like many Smith families, these Smith's have been almost impossible to trace, so I generally respond to any posts I see that have the same Smith names that I'm looking for. If you do find any information on your Nancy's family, I'd appreciate hearing from you. In the meantime, I'll keep the name Arbuckle in my notes and watch for that name. Jules
