Elias and two of his brothers Samuel and John were all ministers, I first found this information in the Ashland Co. Ohio, Perry Twp. book. John the father of Elias was born in Dauphin Co. Penn. 9 Sept. 1798, he came to Ashland Co. Ohio with his father Jacob Kiplinger in 1824,at the bottom of the 1850 census is Daniel, a brother of John, Daniel and John had a brother Henry that was an original member of the Red Haw Evangelical Church in Ashland Co.. Interestingly, there was a Francis Ruth that was a minister in Ashland Co in 1824, Elias's father- in- law Adam Ruth didn't immigrate till 1841.
