Madeleine, I found an 1885 obituary in the New Albany paper for John Thomas. This was through the Indiana State library. You can check what they hold online and if they have those newspapers, youn do an inre-library loan on them. I did that for mine. I have a question? Was this person Catholic? If so iI may be able to help you find those records as my Father's people wre Catholic and I have the church vital records from the late 1850's. Where is your "Miller " buried. Is he in Old Crossroads cemetery? Please contact me if I can be of help at patriciagrimm2001@yahoo.com. i don't live in Indiana, but have been there many times and know some of the area .
