Author: S_Mulledy Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.indiana.counties.harrison/3766.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Here is a bit of the History of the McCune family: Andrew McCune Sr., born in Ireland married Elizabeth Johnston Gist (daughter of Thomas Gist), in Fayette County, PA approx. marriage dage 1788. This family eventually migrated to Nelson County, KY. The were in Bardstown in the 1810 Census and in 1820 show in Harrison County, Indiana Census. Most of their Children were born in Ky. Andrew Jr. was born in the 1790's. I believe John B. McCune to be his son and he was born approx 1818. In the 1840 Harrison County, Indiana Census it shows two boys (both within the proper age group to have been Andrews son), by 1850 census the only boy still living in Andrew Jr.'s home is Michael, John B. is now a married man. In my searching I have not found another McCune family in Harrison County so I do believe John B. is the son of Andrew Jr., but I'd like to try and find proof beyond any doubt.
