Like many early pioneers, his tombstone has probably been destroyed or he never had one. Indiana did not begin to issue death certificates until 1882. I also checked the early inquest records (investigations to suspicious deaths), but found no Eslinger's. I did find a few Eslinger marriages here: http://genealogytrails.com/ind/harrison/marriages-E.html There was a "Casper Eslinger" and "Frances Austin" who were married in 1826. Is this your Casper? Casper Eslinger was enumerated in the 1820 Harrison County, Indiana Census with 20 people in his household, including 10 slaves. The follwoing Eslinger's appear in a partial listing of probate records: Casper Eslinger Elijah Eslinger Francis Eslinger This means that probate records for these three men exist. I did not find any Eslinger's listed in the Index of Wills (1809-1849), but a "Wiley Eslinger" did witness the will of Amos Littell in 1838. Hope this helps.
