In the 1860 census for Indiana, Harrison county, Washington township, pages 68-69, there was a family headed by Joseph Sommer, 52, farming, real estate worth $1850 and personal estate $505, born in Va and included Christina, 46, house keeping, Ind, - Amos, 25, farming, $1200/175, - Martin, 21, farming, - Lucretica 19, housekeeping, - Francis A, 17, housekeeping, - Albert C, 15, farming, - Olive S, 13, - Adeline, 10, - Rosanna, 9, and Mary E, 7. All children born in INd. Amos Sonner married Eliza Dean in Harrison county on 18 Dec 1862, source is book E, page 297. In the 1870 census for Ind, Harrison county, Washington township, page 26, there was a family headed by Amos Sonner (spelled Sinore by the indexer), 35 (55 by eneumerator), farmer, $2000/500, Ind, and included Eliza, 36, keeping house, Ind, - Walter, 6, Ind, - Thomas, 4, Ind, and Joseph L, 1, Ind. In the 1880 census for Ind, Harrison, Washington, Dist 103! , page 26, the family was headed by Amos Sonner, 45, farmer, born Ind, father - Va and mother - Ind, and included his wife Eliza, 42, keeping house, Ind, Ky, Ind, his son Walter H, 16, farm hand, his son Thomas B, 14, farm hand, his son J Lincoln, 11, his daughter Izetta ?, 8, his son Edwin H, 3 and his Daughter Stella M. 5/12.
