My records indicate Daniel was born abt 1760-61 in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. His Father, Johann Paul Sipes, moved to Frederick Town, Maryland in 1771 (paid taxes on horse and cow) and about Oct 1787 bought land in Catawba Co, North Carolina. Therefore, Daniel must have been born in Pennsylvania. Paul moved to Maryland about 19 years after arriving in the Penn. Port. That makes Daniel about 11 years old when they arrived in Maryland and his brother Paul would have been a baby. Daniel served in the Revolutionary War having served at the battle of Brandywine, the family then moved to North Carolina. His son, John, was born in Maryland in 1782. Some record states Daniel and Barby were married in North Carolina but I have not found any such record. I do have a theory though not proven, yet. I know that Daniel II (my gggrandfather), John, arrived in Holt Co Mo about 1838. Dan I died in Indiana, Dan II died in Holt Co Mo, Dan III also. John died about 1860 in Missouri, either Holt or Atchison Co can't find date or burial site. About that theory! Someone indicated that Barby's name was Miller. I found that Daniel was executor of an estate of a Henry Miller. I think that maybe Barby was his daughter. I will have to check this further in my papers, but I think Barbara Miller was the widow of this Henry Miller. In that case, Daniel could have married the Widow. This is all just theory on my part but certainly makes a lot of sense to me. About Israel. Are you referring to the son of Daniel (b1761). who married Martha McKinny? I found a Benjamin Israel in the 1930 Holt Co Census, children Claude L, Lillian, Claud J, Calvin D. Do you know these people. Let me know what you think.
