    2. Gerald L Spore
    3. Dr William Anderson Simler, brother of my g-gm Mary Ann (Simler) Fravel, married Elmira A Howe in Monroe Co IN Aug 5 1847. He practiced medicine in Point Commerce (Greene Co) IN until his death Oct 14 1849, at age 26. He and Elmira supposedly had two daughters. Elmira apparently went to Harrison Co after his death. There is a marriage record of Elmira H Simler to John Wright Aug 7 1853 in Harrison Co. Would like to contact descendants of Elmira Howe Simler Wright. G L Spore, glsdcs@att.net .

Author: geneworker Surnames: McCallen, Green & Smith Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.indiana.counties.harrison/3722.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thanks for the help on my McCallen line, especially providing Hayes Robert McCallen's middle name. Perhaps now I'll be able to find out who his parents were. It's interesting to see that one census states Myra's father was born in IL. and another saying both parents born in IN. And, Wm. A's states in one that his mother was born in KY and another says in IN. Guess I'll check both. Lottie Agnes Roney Hattabaugh is my maternal grandmother and I've just begun the search for McCallens and Roney ancestry. From your tips I found a Hays R. age 13 son of Amos and Margaret McCallen in the 1850 census. I had already found a marriage between Amos McCallen and Margaret Haymore on 30 Oct. 1834 and a Bible record on file at the John Hay Historical Center in Salem, IN. showing the children of Amos and Margaret McCallen including Hayes Robert MCallen born 7 April, 1837. Unfortunately, Harrison Co., IN marriages shows Hays R. married to Mary Sears 18 Oct. 1860; Hays R. married Susan E! . Avery 13 Feb. 1876; Hays B. married Almira Horner 19 Sept 1850 and my Hays married to Josephine Smith 11 April 1874. Don't know yet if any of those earlier marriages may have been a first marriage and Josephine being a second, or are unrelated. I'm going on a hunt to find Hayes Robert McCallen's birth and death certificates. Thanks again for your help. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Hi Daniel, No, the info I have is that Forest's parents are William Grant Cotner (1867-1934) and Susan (Annie) Chappell/Chapel. Forest's wife was Clara A. Brashear and its that line, rather than the Cotner line, that I am researching. So I have very little on the Cotners except this particular family. But I'd be happy to share what I have if you find they are in your family tree.
