    3. Hi List, Is anyone researching John Keller who married Catherine Stein in Floyd Co. on 02 April 1857. Her sister Barbara Stein who married John Thomas and lived in Harrison Co. is my great-grandmother. This John Keller was born in Germany. I have no other information on him or them and would like to put this family together. I do have complete records on the Thomas family. Any ideas or information would be greatly appreciated. Patricia (Thomas) Grimm in AZ.

    3. Sorry about the delay! No I haven't corresponded with that researcher. It could be that my Keller family did live in the Frederick area. My line definitely was in PA in the early 1700s. I have corresponded with another researcher who tells me that there were two lines of Kellers in Harrison County, IN. Whether the two lines are connected, who knows? I'm still not entirely sure how mine got from PA to Harrison! Edward Smith vs. Jonathan Keller; from & conversion. Jury couldn't reach a verdict; dismissed and continued. 6)April term 1818, 7th day; James McKindle vs. John & Simon Tindall 7)November term 1818, 1st day. William Terry, called to grand jury duty. 8)April term 1819, 1st day; Indiana vs. James Tindall, indictment for riot. Jury found him guilty; fined 50 cents. 9)August term 1819, 10th day; Seth Levenworth vs. William Terry, an appeal; continued. 10)November term 1819, 11th day; Indiana vs. Jonathan Keller, assault & battery. 11)November term, 1819, November 30, 1819; Keller pleads guilty, fined $1.00. 12)November term 1819, 10th day; Levenworth vs. William Terry, appeal. Appeal failed; neglecting to move his right to a ferry on Big Blue River. I am particulary interested in the Terry and Tinley families. My strong suspicion now is that Samuel C. Tinley was the father of Sarah Tinley, wife of James Adams, my 3rd gr grandfather. I suspect that William Terry is the father of Sarah Tinley's mother, Sarah Terry. Sarah Terry shows birth in North Carolina, she died in Harrison County, IN in 1877. The Kellers might be connected with my Cotner family. I would be glad to correspond with anyone researching these families. Robert Schneider

VA. Magdelina may have been connected to my Spore family in Shen. Co., because Casper Hemp appeared in the same household as Jacob Spore (my g-g-gf) in early Tax Lists. The second part of my Hemp dilemma comes when my g-g-grandparents Jacob Mauck/Mock and Margaret Hemp were married Aug 9 1811 in Washington Co. TN, where the Maucks, Spores, and apparently some Hemps, had moved from Shenandoah Co. VA. Later, after the Spores and some of the Maucks moved to Harrison Co. IN, a Mauck cousin, Christian Mauck married Catherine Hemp Nov 14 1824. Is Isaac Hemp connected to any of the marriages mentioned here? G. Information given includes the county of residence and the date of the tax list in which the individual is listed. The genealogist finding a name of interest can then refer to the tax list (all are on microfilm), where he will find such information as the amount of land owned and its location, the number of individuals in various categories attached to the household, and other background information.
