I did find a "James M. Brown" born November 22, 1843 who died March 14, 1902. This James M. Brown was buried at Union Chapel Christian cemetery in Boone Township. I also located an obituary for this James M. Brown (1843-1902) which states he was an old soldier, 58 years old, died of dropsy, survivors included his wife and six children, not named, buried at Union Chapel. There were a few death certificates for the Brown's for this time period (pre-1920), but none for a James Brown. Could these two James M. Brown's possibly be one and the same person??? Wish I could be of more help. Jesse Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hello Listers, I am trying to find out if there is someone right there in Corydon, Harrison County, Indiana, who might be able to do a favor for me. I am trying to obtain a copy (or a scanned image) of the obituary for Henry C. MEISNER who died in, I believe, Boone township, Harrison County, Indiana, on 16 November, 1914. He was born in 1827 in Germany and migrated to America about 1845 to 1847. He became a naturlized citizen in 1852. He married to Susan BARGER, a daughter of Henry and Delilah (ABEL) BARGER. I know that this obit appeared in the 18 November, 1914, issue of the CORYDON DEMOCRAT on what I believe is the front page. I have a copy but it is so poor I cannot make it out. I'd very much like to read this obit. May I please ask someone to look at the microfilm at the library and send me a copy of it or send a scanned image to me via email? I would greatly apprecaite any help I could get on this one. Many, many sincere thanks Sam Lawson

There is a cemetery called Sappenfield in Harrison County which is on the old property of Levi Sappenfield and does have a fence I have been and I do not see where anyone needs permission since it has its own road and gate was not locked. Levi is not buried on this land but at Fairdale area cemetery. I see now that Erica who submitted the pictures on findagrave has the cemeteries combined or mixed up. Sappenfield Cemetery (named that way) is next to power plant and does not have Levi Sappenfield buried there. He is in the cemetery in Fairdale which is official called Arnolds Cemetery since they are buried there but has Sappenfields so some have called it Sappenfield cemetery at Fairdale and I would assume others have just called it Fairdale Cemetery because it might be the only one. I thought I would need permission to get into Sappenfield Cemetery because there was a No Trespassing sign (if I remember correctly) on the road leading to it.
