Was all her life a resident of Hamilton county and was never out of the state. She lived to witness all the imporvements made in the county, the introduction of the railroad, telegraph, telephone, and electric lights; she lived to see Noblesville grow from a small village to its present size, to see the forest disappear and the country become one of the leading agricultural counties of the state. She was a plain spoken, energetic, hard working woman, a friend to the needy, forming many strong friendships and respected by all that knew her. She was married to D. C. Maker the 14th of February, 1858, her husband dying the 31st of August 1879. She departed this life Aug 22, 1894 aged sixty-nine years, two months and fourteen days. She was a true mother, not only to her own children and step children, but to others and she leaves a niece and nephews and grandchildren who realizd that she was a mother to them in the absence of their own mothers; and this was true also of one Randolph Patent, of no relation whatever, who in his affliction called her mother and who has gone on before her. The funeral services were held at her home Friday the 24th, the burial at Crownland.
