Surname research: WINDERS, PHENIS Charles WINDERS b. 1821 Clinton Co.. Ohio married Catherine PHENIS Nov. 11, 1838 in Hamilton Co.. Indiana. Their children were born in Hamilton Co. Thomas M b. Nov 12, 1851, Sarah b. abt. 1854, Mariah abt. 1856, William abt. 1859, James abt. 1867, Cyrus E. abt. 1869. According to records Charles WINDERS married an Elizabeth. I don't know if she is the mother to any of the above children. I can't find any death notice for Catherine (PHENIS) WINDERS. I was able to get a record from the BLM showing that Charles and his brother William owned land in Hamilton Co. Charles Winders' parents were James and Catherine (Hirschman) Winders. Catherine Hirschman Winders died abt. 1850 in Hamilton Co. Indiana but I can't find any burial info. Children of James and Catherine Winders were Charles b. 1821, Michael b. 1818, William b. 1816, Philip b. 1814 and Susan Winders b. 1824. I do know that William, Michael and Charles moved to Hamilton Co. Indiana from Clinton Co.. Ohio. I don't know about Philip and Susan. I'm trying to find any information on the above families.
