Calif., 80, died Nov. 18, 2000 in Riverside of a brain tumor. She was born Marjory Joyce Rahm on May 31, 1920 in Indianapolis,(MARION OR HAMILTON CO.) Ind., the youngest of three sisters. On July 1, 1939, one year after she graduated from Emmerich Manual Training High School in Indianapolis, she married Jim Wand. She lived in San Diego while her husband served in the U.S. Marine Corps. At the completion of his tour of duty in 1946, they moved to La Quinta, Calif. They lived in Indio, Ontario, and Rancho Mirage, Calif., before moving to Riverside. She was a homemaker and also maintained the books for the family business. She enjoyed word games, crossword puzzles, and polka dancing, and was active in bowling leagues. She volunteered for a variety of organizations, including the Riverside Community Hospital Women's Auxiliary and the Ramona High School Band Boosters, where she and her husband helped establish the "Band Aides" in 1969. She was skilled at sewing dancing costumes that earned awards at Oktoberfest celebrations in Big Bear Lake, Calif., and Sagle, Idaho. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jim Wand; sons and daughter-in-law Loren Wand of Lincoln City (LINCOLN CO.)and Erick and Jennifer Wand of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Emile Wand, Eesha Wand, and Kelsey Wand, all of Lincoln City. In remembrance of her life and her love of dancing, a champagne celebration will be held in her honor by the Orange County Polka Dance Club in Santa Ana, Calif. on Jan. 14.
