    1. James Scott Obituary
    2. HAMILTON COUNTY LEDGER, August 16, 1907, p. 7: "Remembered As a Scissors Grinder" "James Scott, who died at Westfield, Tuesday, will be remembered by many residents of Noblesville as a scissors grinder, an old man who came here frequently with a little grindstone on his back and solicited work. Mr. Scott did this kind of work at intervals though he owned a good farm near Westfield. He did not follow his avocation solely for the pleasure there was in it but he did enjoy the work and did it mostly at a time when work on the farm was slack. Mr. Scott was among the old men in this county and spent most of his life in Washington township. He was 91 years of age." And then in the same issue, but on the very next page (p. 8) : "James Scott, the second oldest man in Hamilton County, died at Westfield, Tuesday. He was past 93 and has been a familiar figure in the county for over half a century. Funeral at the late home of the deceased at 10 o'clock Thursday morning."
