    1. James Scott and Mary Wheeler
    2. HAMILTON COUNTY LEDGER, September 28, 1900, p. 1: " Mr. and Mrs. James Scott, of Washington township, celebrated the 64th anniversary of their marriage this week." Same issue, page 5: "Sixty-fourth Wedding Anniversary" "Westfield, IN--September 27--Mr. and Mrs. James Scott celebrated the 64th anniversary of their wedding by entertaining a large number of their friends and relatives." Then finally in the same issue on page 8: under WESTFIELD news items: "Tuesday was the 64th anniversary of the marriage of James Scott and wife. Some sixty relatives and friends attended and were entertained at dinner by the venerable couple. James Scott was born in Ohio, in 1815, and removed with his parents to Hamilton County, Indiana, in 1822, where he has since resided. His wife, Mary Wheeler, was born in Indiana Territory, near where the city of Richmond now stands, in 1816. They used the same chinaware in serving the dinner today that they used on their wedding 64 years ago. We doubt very much whether there is another housewife in the state that can establish such a record of carefulness with her dishes. Mr. and Mrs. Scott are still hale and hearty and bid fair to live years yet."
