D. Porter. [Transcribed on February 16, 2008 by RLJ from microfilm of the original newspaper on file in the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library.] Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Baptist church in Owensburg for Peter Dowden PORTER of Owensburg, who died Sunday night of a heart attack at 9:15 o'clock at his home, following an illness of two hours. {Burial in Owensburg Cemetery.} He was born April 12, 1890, in Greene County, the son of John and Harriett (JACKSON) PORTER. On November 2, 1910, he was united in marriage to Rosa Nell COBB. At the time of his death he owned and operated a restaurant and filling station.
