Watkins. [Transcribed on February 13, 2008 by RLJ from microfilm of the original newspaper on file in the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library.] Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock for James Benjamin WATKINS, lifelong resident of Highland Township. Services were held at the Newark church and burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. WATKINS passed away at his home near Calvertville at 3:30 o'clock Sunday morning. He was 83 years of age at the time of his death. He was the son of William and Jane (MARTIN) WATKINS, and was born March 17, 1863. Survivors include the wife, Amanda, and the following children: Archie WATKINS, of Solsberry; Mrs. Jennie TURPIN, of Bloomfield rural route; Abner and Frank WATKINS, of Bloomfield; Angeline, at home and Edward WATKINS, of St. Louis, Missouri.
