L. WILSON, AGED 90, DEAD-Was Resident of Popcorn, and Last of Family of Sixteen Children.' [Transcribed on April 15, 2008 by RLJ from microfilm of the original newspaper on file in the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library.] Mrs. Louisa WILSON, one of the oldest of Lawrence County residents, passed away at the home of her son, Everett WILSON, in the Popcorn neighborhood Tuesday at 7:45 p.m. Death was due to complications brought about by advanced years. Mrs. WILSON was ninety years, eight months and nineteen days of age at the time of the final summons and was the last of a family of sixteen children, all of whom lived to be over eighty years of age. Mrs. WILSON was a native of Ohio and was born March 10, 1842, to Jacob and Sarah (YOUNG) BYERS. She was united in marriage May 27, 1860 to Giles WILSON, who passed away thirty-six years ago. Surviving are two sons, Everett WILSON, Popcorn, and Thomas WILSON, of Bloomfield; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. WILSON was held in the highest esteem by the entire community and was one of the most beloved residents of the Popcorn neighborhood. She was a member of the Bethel Christian Church. Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. from the Popcorn Christian Church with Rev. Logan HATFIELD, of Owensburg, in charge.
