His father's name was Clay Owen, about whom I know next to nothing. My father believes we are descended from his namesake, Robert Owen the 19th century Welsh-born philanthropist, essayist and idealist social reformer, who founded the early industrial "cooperstive" commmunes in Scotland (Newtown)and Indiana (New Harmony). Are there any documented family connections (geneaological or otherwise) that tie Henry Clay Owen to Clay Owen, and/or Robert Owen the philanthropist and social reformer?
