Deceased was born and raised within two miles of where he died. He was married to Louisa BYERS, May 27, 1860. To them were born four children, three boys and one girl, all of whom survive him. His illness was very brief, being sick only about one hour. He did a day's work the day before, at a hearty supper, retired about 9 o'clock and slept well till about 4 o'clock, when he awoke his companion and said he was so sick. Medical aid was summoned, but before the doctor reached the home the ere the gray dawn had begun, he had crossed the dark, still river of death. His children did not reach his bedside till after death had claimed him and the spirit of death had claimed him and the spirit had gone to the God that gave it. He was a member of the Christian Church at Popcorn. Thus the family has lost a good and loving husband, a kind father and the neighborhood a Christian gentleman. The funeral was preached by Elder Quincy SHORT, of Springville. Interment in the Lowder Cemetery Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
