In the 1900 census, William Sponsler is living in the next county south, Martin County, IN, Halbert Township. He is age 82, born in Ohio and moved to Indiana. 1900 Census, Series T623, Roll 392, page 64. Most likely the railroad had him pick up mail or do a job there for them. There was never any town there and he may not have owned land there, either. He was in his 70's when they gave him the job. If you check the 1900 census in Martin County, you might be able to find out whom he is living with at age 82. That area would never have been incorporated because of its small size.
