My 2nd great-grandparents are Hiram Page and Matilda Brewer. I have Matilda's death certificate, and it shows she died in 1912, and is buried at Bethel Cemetery in Greene County. My problem is Hiram. I can't seem to locate a death certificate on him. Family lore has him buried at Bethel with Matilda, but I couldn't locate his grave. Perhaps the headstone is missing. The Greene County death index shows that this Hiram Page did not die in Greene County, as he is not on the listing. The death date I have for him is 15 June 1901. One source says he died in Greene County, OH. If he died in OH, how can he be buried at Bethel? Is it possible for him to have died in Greene County, OH, and for his body to be shipped home for a burial in Bethel, in Greene County, IN? This sounds kind of far-fetched to me, as travel was by wagon. Can anyone help me clear up this mystery? Thanks for your help.
