According to the 1860 Greene County, IN census, he was born ca. 1825 in NC. His marriage record states he was married in Greene County to Catherine Norris on 11 May 1857. I have hit a brick wall with him. He supposedly died ca. 1866, and his widow married Greenville Tally/Talley in 1866. He and Catherine had John Henry Vaughn, my great-grandfather, who was abt. 3 months old in the above census. I would love to know more about William Vaughn. Who were his parents? Was he married before Catherine? Did he have other children? Was he a Civil War vet? It has been very difficult finding any info. on him.
