IN` Diane, I've been searching many years for the Old Father Griffith Cemetery in Green Co. It is located near the mouth of the Eel River. This found in an old family letter about the burial of my 3rd great-grandfather, Benjamin Walker. He was living with his daughter Elizabeth Walker Howard (husband Jonathan-occup. carder). She wrote to her brothers, George, Aquilla and Jesse Walker in KY, from "Springvill L.C.Perry Twp.(I think L.C. stands for Lawrence Co which was or is part of Green Co. She said, "Our fathere left us the 23 of April, 1851. He died while walking in the lane. Fathere died in peace in his 98th year and I took him out and beried him in the old Fathere Griffin Graveyard at the mouth of the Eel Rivere. I beried him next to mothere". I have never found the name of Benjamin's wife except for the name Frances. There had been an epidemic in those parts in 1849-50 which may have caused her death. Elizabeth went on to tell her brothers that she had lost their daughter Harriot in August, 1851 and left her little babe. Her sons Jonathan and Benjimon--she wrote--have gone to the Misury Country. (Missouri) If you have the cemetery directories, would you please see if there is a Benjamin Walker and wife buried at Fathere Griffin Cemetery? I would be so grateful.
