Vaughn listed as a private in the 59th Regiment, Indiana Infantry. Goodspeeds 1884 "History of Greene & Sullivan Counties..." lists on page 149 an accounting of Company E of the 59th Regiment which has "W. H. Vaugh, died 1862" It also mentions a G.
