However, I recently found the following in the Greene Co. WPA marriage index: Clapton Jesse G - to - Elizabeth Arnold - Nov 29, 1868 - Bk. H, pg 261 - Greene Co., Indiana Does anyone know anything about his Jesse Clapton and wife Elizabeth Arnold? They are listed in the 1870 census in Lawrence Co., IN: 1870 Lawrence Co., IN census, Spice Valley twp., pg. 8/529 59/59 - Clapton, Jesse - 52 - m - w - KY - farmer - 100 ----------, Elizabeth - 52 - f - w - KY - keeping house ----------, James - 18 - m - w - IN - farmer ----------, William - 21 - m - w - IN - farmer These two children were Elizabeth's by her first marriage.
