I am researching in Monroe and Greene Co. the Following: Edwards, Alcorn, Eller(Greene only), BURCH, Nash ISON, Rice, Weaver, Ritter. My Ancestor, George Alcorn is buried in Monroe Co.. Garrison Chapel. He has a Gov marker, because he was a Civil War Vet. even though he was already 50 when he enlisted, but no dates on the tombstone. I have not been able to find an obit for him. The family bible says death date Feb 10, 1894, but this bible has been off in years at time, so perhaps he died in 1892. He lived at McVille. He had three wives, the first being Elizabeth Rice. She died after the 1860 census. But I have no death dates or B.dates for her, and the other two wives. But I feel they are buried next to George Alcorn, as a visit to the cemetery seemed to indicate there was plenty of room, no stones, just blank space. And since this is the old Rice cemetery, surely his first wife was buried there. Does the Garrison Chapel have any further records of burials? Judy Jehn
