    1. [INGREENE] Newberry
    2. I don't have too much history but will share what I can remember. Newberry used to be a fairly busy place. All most all of the original buildings have been torn down. Since it is next to the East fork of White River, it was probably really busy before major highways came into play. My parents used to talk about going there to watch movies on the side of a building. Kind of like a "drive in" theater but without the sound, maybe. That would have been in the 30's or 40's. Griffin Industries is a rendering plant. They process dead animals. Roadkill, sick farm animals, etc. There was a grocery store. The kind that had old wood floors and the meat counter was at the back of the store. There was a New/Used Appliance store. It was owned by a man named SCOTT. There are several small cemeteries in the area. It is surrounded by rich farm land. Some of the best in the State. Once you get away from the sand bottoms, that is. I am positive that there was a mill on the Northeast side of town but do not remember the name. Hope I didn't bore you too much. It is now a place that you will literally miss if you blink. :) CJ
