Corbin and Daughter Dies Tuesday; Wife Dies This Morning." [Transcribed on March 8, 2007 by RLJ from microfilm of the original newspaper on file in the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library.] Martin F. CORBIN, son of Lousinda and Benjamin Franklin CORBIN, was born near Owensburg, on September 2, 1856, and passed away at his home May 10, 1927, being at the time of his death seventy years, eight months and eight days old. He was united in marriage to Mary Catherine PRICE on March 4, 1875. To this union was born four children, namely: Mattie (CORBIN) Compton, Emma F. (CORBIN) JOHNSON, Clonia R. (CORBIN) GERBAZ, and an infant son, who has gone before. The deceased accepted Christ as his savior and was buried with him in baptism when a young man of seventeen years, under the preaching of Rev. Billie BAKER, of the Baptist church, at Kentucky Ridge, near his home. Mr. CORBIN leaves besides his wife and daughter, Clonie, and little grandson, Delbert; sisters and brothers, Noah CORBIN, of Urbana, Illinois; Mrs. John WEBSTER, of Washington, Mrs. Michael BOBBITT, of near Linton, Armstead CORBIN, John and Frank CORBIN, all of Switz City, besides a host of friends. Martin CORBIN, as he was commonly called, was known for his integrity and honest living and was an upright citizen. He was stricken with influenza, developing into pneumonia, which lasted about nine days.
