Let me start by honoring my step-dad, Clifton "Emory" NOEL the son of Virgil NOEL b. 1887 Gr.Co.IN and Stella BURKS b. 1894 Gr.Co.IN who resided in the Solsberry area of Greene Co.IN. Emory as most people called him served in the Army during WWII. He was a Sgt. with the 3rd Chemical Mortar Battalion.......during his time of service, he served in Africa, Sicily, Italy, Belgium, France, Germany and Austria.......he was awarded many medals during that time,the one that was the highest honor was the Criox de Querre with Bronze Star while serving in France. He was very proud of being able to serve his country and held his memories of that close to him all his life. He served from Feb 1942 until Sept 1945. After he came back home from the service, he later belonged to the VFW for several years at the Clay City, IN post.......serving there in many capacities and as the Post Commander for several years and was a member of their Drill Team, that won many a competitions around the US He was a wonderful person, and a great father.
