Present day Marco (New Marco) is located in Stafford Township west of Black Creek on the former Indianapolis-Vincennes Railroad. Old Marco was east of Black Creek, also in Stafford Township. Recently I found an 1875 map of Greene County. Marco is shown as being located in Stafford Township on the Indianapolis-Vincennes Railroad. However, Marco Post Office is shown as being located in Washington Township along the Indianapolis-Vincennes Railroad between Lyons and Marco. Does anyone have any additional information concerning the 1875 Marco Post Office in Washington Township? Was either Bushrod or Bee Hunter known as Marco Post Office at some time in the past prior to the Marco Post Office being located in Marco, Stafford Township? (Or is the 1875 map in error?)
