Surnames: ASHCRAFT, BRUCE Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ci.2ADE/4458 Message Board Post: THE BLOOMFIELD NEWS, Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana, Thursday, March 20, 1919, Volume XLIII, Number 18, Page 2, Column 1, “COUNTY NEWS—Sexson Spring—Jackson Township.” [Transcribed 6 Apr 2002 from Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library’s IHS Microfilm Records.] Uncle Major BRUCE, who was all his life a boy, loved by all who knew him for his sunny disposition and having spent ninety and some years in this great, beautiful world, was called from his earthly service last Saturday night to dwell in a home not made with hands. He passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Amos ASHCRAFT near Dresden. His remains were laid to rest in the Ridge Cemetery Monday. It was Uncle Major’s custom when he came to town to dance the old time dance for the boys, which they expected and enjoyed, and only two weeks before his death he danced his last time for them very deliberately. — Link to the Obituary of his daughter, Anna (BRUCE) ASHCRAFT: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=message&r=rw&p=localities.northam.usa.states.indiana.counties.greene&m=2400 — NOTES—RLJ: CEMETERIES OF EASTERN GREENE COUNTY, INDIANA, 1994, G.C.H.S., Jackson Township, Kentucky Ridge Cemetery, Page 119: BRUCE, Hugh B, 12 Jul 1828; BRUCE, Elizabeth 1828—29 May 1901.
