He was the youngest of a family of six children born to John and Nancy (HUDSON) TETRICK, all having preceded him in death. He was married to Elvira HASKETT July 27, 1893. To this union five children were born, namely: Mrs. Rant SEXSON, Mrs. Clarence MARTINDALE, Joe TETRICK and Van TETRICK, all of Indianapolis, and John TETRICK, of the Clifty community. "Rat" as he was better known, had been in failing health for more than a year and had several .{unclear}... bore his suffering with patience and fortitude, always cheerful and looking on the "sunny side." Everything that kind hearts and willing hands could do to relieve him of his suffering and stay the hand of Death proved to no avail. But they can reflect in their sadness and be comforted with the thought that they did all that human hands could do, and they weep not as those who have no hope, for he would often speak of his willingness to go, and of the many friends he had in the Glory World. He enjoyed having Christians come in and pray in his behalf. Approximately ten years ago he attended a meeting at Hobbieville, Indiana, and was truly converted, although he never affiliated with any church. He enjoyed talking to his family about his prospect of future destiny, and in conversation with his daughter, Nellie, told her of his conversion and how reluctant he was in taking the ministers, who were visiting in his home, to church that night, and it was then that he experience a change of heart, and on one occasion when the sun was shining in all its glory he remarked to his daughter, "Wouldn't this be a nice day to go?" The daughter asked, "Go, where, Dad?" And he said, "To the Glory World." He was always jolly, and his many friends were always welcome in his home; and it has been said that no one in the community fed as many people as did Mr. and Mrs. TETRICK. He will be greatly missed by his neighbors and friends, but his passing will be most keenly felt by his dear companion, and brother-in-law, Gary HASKETT, who was taken into the home of Mr. and Mrs. TETRICK and cared for as their own. He leaves to mourn their loss, his devoted companion, his affectionate children and five grandchildren, namely: Robert, Hiram and Mary Ann Sexson, and Richard Lee and Judith Ann TETRICK, and a host of other relatives and friends." "So live, that when thy summons comes to join The innumerable caravan, which moves To that mysterious realm, where each shall take His chamber in the silent halls of death, Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night, Scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams." Followed by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends, his remains were taken Friday to the Bethel church where funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Logan HATFIELD, and he was laid to rest in the Dishman Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kelsie TETRICK, Charlie BRITTON, Curt PRICE, Byron JACKSON and Orville WILSON. Flower-bearers were Mrs. Ovid HEROLD, Mrs. Robert NEWSOM, Mrs. Barbara BRITTON, Mrs. Howard HAYES Mrs. Kelsie TETRICK, Mrs. Harley HASKETT.
