Cole, 80, Linton, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. Born April 25, 1916, in Vicksburg, he was the son of Luther and Bessie (Stewart) Cole. He was a coal miner at Sherwood Templeton Coal Co. He was a truck driver for Mayflower Van Lines for 20 years and also worked for Bland Trucking Co. He was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church and Linton Moose Lodge. Survivors include one son, Tony Cole of Denison, Texas, and Bess Morse Rutter of Osprey. Fla; six grandchildren and 14 gread-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred B. Fraser Cole, 1989; one brother, Orville Eugene Cole and one sister, Geneva Petersen. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Adams officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until services Saturday at the funeral home. ------------ Luther Cole was married to Maude Caroline Titus also, she was my husbands Aunt.
