Surnames: ALEXANDER, BRANDON Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ci.2ADE/4588 Message Board Post: THE BLOOMFIELD DEMOCRAT, Bloomfield, Greene County, Indiana, Thursday, February 4, 1904, Volume XXXV, Page 3, Column 4, “Levi Brandon.” Levi BRANDON, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of Owensburg, died at the residence of his son, Cyrus, in this place, Sunday after a short illness caused by pneumonia. Mrs. BRANDON came down some time ago for a short visit and while here was taken sick and Mr. BRANDON came to help care for her. He was taken ill on the Wednesday preceding his death and rapidly grew worse until the end. The funeral was held from his son’s house Monday, conducted by Rev. W, and the remains were taken to Owensburg for interment. Levi BRANDON was born in Rowan County, North Carolina, August 11, 1829 and came to this county with his parents when about two years old. They settled near Cincinnati {IN} and in that vicinity and Owensburg has since been his home. He was a man who commanded the utmost respect from his neighbors, honorable, upright and straightforward, a model citizen, a kind father and husband. Besides his wife, who is in a precarious condition, he leaves four sons, three of them, John, Cyrus and Will, residing in this place, and the other on the homestead, near Owensburg. — — Link to the Obituary of his widow, Martha A.
